About the role
Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping & Bookkeeping:
Maintain precise, up-to-date accounting records, ledger entries, and transaction logs using modern cloud accounting software to reflect daily operational activity.
Daily Reconciliations:
Perform daily reconciliations of bank accounts, digital payment gateways, POS transactions, cash collections, and logistics operator accounts to ensure zero revenue leakage.
Operational Cost & Expense Tracking:
Monitor, classify, and track operational expenditure—including fleet maintenance, fuel costs, rider allowances, and vendor payouts ensuring spend stays within approved budgets.
Tax & Regulatory Remittances:
Compute, prepare, and file all statutory remittances (PAYE, VAT, WHT, Pension, and local government levies) on time to ensure full state and federal regulatory compliance.
Cash Flow & Invoicing Management:
Oversee client invoicing, monitor accounts receivable/payable, follow up on overdue payments, and manage cash flow to support fast-paced startup operations.
Financial Reporting & Analytics:
Prepare accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports, profit/loss statements, and variance analysis to provide actionable insights for executive decision-making.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
Work closely with the operations, fleet, and dispatch teams to audit trip logs, enforce internal financial controls, and improve overall cost efficiency across the logistics network.
Requirements:
B.Sc. in accounting, finance, or a related field. 3–5 years’ experience in accounting, with strong skills in bookkeeping, reconciliations, and reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (experience with accounting software is a plus). Integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment.
