About the role

Responsibilities: Work closely with leadership to plan and execute communication strategies supporting company objectives. Contribute to drafting communication materials (newsletters, press releases, announcements) for diverse audiences. Develop and update written, visual, and multimedia content for internal memos, newsletters, the website, and social media. Collaborate with graphic designers or external agencies (if applicable) to create engaging communication materials. Assist in building relationships with media outlets, coordinating interviews, and fielding media inquiries. Monitor media coverage and flag potential reputational risks or opportunities for enhanced visibility. Serve as a key point of contact for staff communications, ensuring transparent and timely updates on organisational initiatives. Help maintain internal channels (intranet, bulletins, newsletters) and gather feedback to improve communication effectiveness. Support communication activities for stakeholder events, conferences, and community outreach programs. Help track stakeholder feedback and escalate concerns to senior management when needed. Monitor communication trends, social media engagement, and public sentiment. Compile regular reports that evaluate the effectiveness of communication initiatives and recommend improvements. Contribute to crisis communication plans and, when necessary, assist senior staff in drafting public statements or internal notices. Monitor real-time developments to respond quickly and effectively under guidance from senior leaders. Ensure that all communication materials adhere to the organization’s branding guidelines and messaging standards. Provide basic guidance to staff to maintain brand consistency in day-to-day communication. Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned by the Head of HR and Corporate Services Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate communications or public relations. Managing media relations and crafting effective communication strategies. Use of digital communication tools and social media platforms. Self-leadership and team management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Key Competencies: All communications are delivered on schedule and meet the organisation’s quality standards. Positive feedback from internal teams and external stakeholders regarding clarity and consistency of communications. Consistent application of the organisation’s brand voice, style, and visual identity. Building and maintaining productive relationships with media and relevant external partners. Provide training and support to staff on best practices for communication. KPIs: Timeliness and effectiveness of communication campaigns. Growth in social media engagement metrics. Crisis and Reputation Management. Survey results or feedback from staff on clarity and timeliness of updates. Adherence to project/task deadlines and alignment with strategic objectives.
