About the role
Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping & Posting:
Maintain daily financial records, post ledger entries, and accurately record accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
Bank Reconciliation:
Perform monthly bank reconciliations and verify transaction details against ledger entries to ensure accuracy.
Petty Cash Management:
Oversee petty cash disbursements, maintain cash vouchers, and reconcile physical balances with logbooks regularly.
Invoicing & Payments:
Prepare customer invoices, track outstanding balances, send payment reminders, and process approved vendor payments.
Payroll Support:
Assist in compiling payroll data, computing monthly deductions, and preparing payroll schedules.
Tax & Compliance:
Support the preparation and timely filing of statutory remittances (PAYE, VAT, WHT, Pension) to local and state tax authorities.
Financial Reporting:
Assist in preparing trial balances, schedules for monthly management accounts, and supporting documents for internal or external audits.
Requirements:
A minimum of an OND in accounting, finance, or a related discipline. Currently studying/writing ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) exams. 1–2 years of post-qualification accounting or bookkeeping experience. Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Redemption Area (Mowe / Ibafo / Redemption City / Shimawa axis, Ogun State) for an easy daily commute. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Tally). High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, integrity, and the ability to handle confidential financial information.
